Coast Guard Requirment For Assistant Commandant (Group Gazetted Officer, ‘A’) 2021

It is the Indian Coast Guard is as an Armed Force of the Union that offers a demanding career for energetic and young Indian Male and Female candidates to various branches as an assistant Commandant(Group Gazetted Officer, ‘A’). Registration of ‘online’ application will be through Coast Guard recruitment website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in.

Indian Coast Guard Branch and Eligibility criteria

  • While short listing applications for call-up, priority will be given to candidates with higher percentage of marks in the degree.
  • Only candidates cleared their final year/ final semester exams and completed their degrees are to apply.
  • Candidates withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any other service training academy are not eligible to appear.
  • Candidates should not have been arrested, convicted or prosecuted on criminal charges.
  • Free boarding & Lodging facility for the duration of FSB will be provided. To & Fro rail fares (AC III Tier / Chair car) or actual bus fare to the candidates appearing in FSB (Stage-II) will be reimbursed as per GOI policy.

Indian Coast Guard Education Qualification

General Duty:

  1. Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (i.e. 1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech Course or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree candidates wherever applicable).
  2. Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XIIth of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics. {Candidates not in possession of Physics and Maths in 10+2 (intermediate) or equivalent level are not eligible for General Duty (GD)}.

Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA):-

  1. Candidates holding current /valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued/ validated by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Minimum educational qualification – XIIth pass (Physics and Mathematics) with 60% marks in aggregate.

Technical (Engineering & Electrical):-

Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or Should have passed Sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in any of the discipline listed below.

  1. Engineering Branch. Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace.
  2. Electrical Branch. Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engg. Or Power Electronics.
  3. All the above streams of Engg. Must be recognized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
  4. Atleast 60% marks in aggregate in Physics and Maths in 12th class.

Indian Coast Guard Age Limit

  1. General Duty – Born between 01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2001 (Both dates inclusive).
  2. Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA) – Born between 01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2003 (Both dates inclusive).
  3. Technical (Engineering & Electrical) – Born between 01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2001(Both dates inclusive).

How to Apply Indian Coast Guard

Applications will be accepted only ‘Online’ tentativelyfrom1200 hrs on 06 Dec to 17 Dec 2021 for the above said posts. The important instructions for filling up of the online applications are as given below:-

  1. The name of the candidate, father/mother’s name and date of birth should be same as mentioned in the X class passing certificate. Any mismatch in name & date of birth in the applicationwill result in rejection of the application.
  2. Indicate exact percentage of XII and Graduation marks upto two decimals and this is not to be rounded off.
  3. Candidates to choose any one venue for PSB out of the options displayed.
  4. Filling up of information like personal email ID and Mobile number of the candidate is compulsory. The date, time and venue of the test and other information will be informed through personal email ID or CG Recruitment website.
  5. Applicants, either current or permanent address of online applicationshould be
  6. same as the address mentioned in caste/category certificate (SC, ST, OBC& EWS).
  7. In case of OBC Non Creamy Layer (NCL), the category certificate should be as per the format for appointment for post under the Govt. of India. The format of the OBC (Non Creamy) certificate is available on ICG website (No other format will be entertained). Any other format will lead to cancellation of candidature.

To fill up “Online” application the candidates need to logon to the Website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and click on “opportunities”button. Read the instruction carefully and proceed for filling up application form as given below:-

  1. Select the advertisement for Recruitmentof Assistant Commandant-02/2022 Batch.
  2. Select any one post to be applied from any one.
  3. Click on the ‘I Agree’ button and the ‘Online Application’ will be displayed.
  4. Proceed to fill the application (All Star (*) marked entries are compulsory and to be filled).
  5. Candidate have to upload the photograph and signature in jpeg format (image quality 200 dpi). The size of photograph and signature must be between 10 kb to 40 kb and 10 kb to 30 kb respectively.
  6. On successful submission of the online application a unique Application/Registration number will be provided to the candidate. Candidates must note down this application number for future reference and for retrieval/ reprint of e-admit card. Applicants are to take print out of the E-admit card through URL https://joinindiancoastguard.gov.in/reprint.aspx from 28 Dec 2021 onwards. For candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria, a ‘Rejection Slip’, giving the cause of rejection with the ‘Application Number’ will be displayed. Short-listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks.
  7. Candidates are required to bring 02 copies of system generated E-Admit card having allotted roll number with recent identical photograph with blue background(not older than 03 months)and to be carried at the recruitment centre. Candidates shall bring all original documents and keep one application form ready along with photo copies of all documents required i.e. class X certificate and mark sheet showing date of birth, XII class certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects, Degree certificate showing percentage of marks, caste certificate wherever required and NCC ‘C’ Certificate/Games certificate duly attested. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of PSB and FSB shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.
